The Filmfare awards were a topic of discussion for a few days now; however, for all the wrong reasons. There was a time when any person winning a Filmfare award was seen with a glance of respect, as such awards used to hold recognition but times have changed a lot and these awards don’t have that dignity and esteem they were characterized with, earlier.

There have not been many days when singer Amaal Mallik took a jibe at these awards in a Facebook post in which he condemned the hypocrisy prevailing in such ceremonies in harsh words. What added fuel to the fire was the statement of the veteran actor Rishi Kapoor who openly confessed to have bought his “Best Actor” award for the film “Bobby”. After some days, Harshvardhan Kapoor who made a debut in the film industry with movie “Mirzya” in the year 2016 slammed Filmfare over losing the “Best Male Debutante” award to Diljit Dosanjh. In short, Filmfare is losing its grace or rather fails to get the publicity it seeks.
And now Vaibhavi Merchant is the latest addition to the list of its haters. The talented choreographer seems to be quite upset with the nominations of Filmfare, as Salman Khan, very surprisingly, is nominated for the ‘Best Choreographer’ award for his blockbuster Sultan’s track ‘Jag Ghoomeya’. (Well, this song attracted much controversy even before it was released, if you remember the case with Arijit Singh 😉 )
Even if she agreed to the fact that Sallu gave a step of the song in an interview, it’s highly unfair nominating the actor and giving him credit for the entire track.
She articulated her utter dejection on Twitter and wrote, “Why not nominate me as best actor for Sultan if you cud nominate my dearest Salman for best choreographer Jag ghumeya..”
As reported by DNA, Vaibhavi left the event after listening to the announcement of Salman being nominated for this.
